SARASOTA IN THE SUMMERTIME - REAL TALK
Maybe you've heard that Florida is a great place to visit when other places are cold, but that it's too hot to spend the summer months here? I'm going to bust that myth!
Sarasota Florida DOES get hot during the summer - the peak temperatures are during June, July, and especially August - BUT there are so many great ways to cool off and so many things to do here during the summer that beating the heat is a breeze.
For one thing, the temperatures are much cooler in the mornings and evenings, so enjoying Sarasota's beautiful environment isn't off limits during the summer months... it's just more comfortable to be outside before or after the sun is high in the sky.
There are plenty of ways to beat the heat at any time of day, especially if you want to take advantage of living on the water. Boating is a great way to cool off because the temperatures on the water tend to be much cooler and there's an amazing breeze. Enjoying the beaches and shoreline is also popular for staying cool.
One of my FAVORITE ways to escape on a hot summer day is to stroll through one of our museums, like SAM (the Sarasota Art Museum). Selby Gardens is another option since so much of it is shaded and it gets a great breeze from the Bay.
